Le Pain Quotidien makes cage-free eggs commitment

It joins a growing number of food companies that have announced global commitments to eliminate the use of cages in their egg supply chains.

International bakery chain Le Pain Quotidien has pledged to only use cage-free eggs by 2025 across all stores.

The move also applies to its locations in Hong Kong, Brazil, Germany, Turkey, the UAE and the United States.

“Le Pain Quotidien is an all day artisan bakery and restaurant brand that strongly believes in making ethical sourcing choices, from field to plate, for the sake of our customers, for maintaining a healthier lifestyle and for the sustainability of the planet. These beliefs also apply to our animal welfare choices. We are constantly looking for opportunities to ensure that we and our suppliers adhere to the highest standards in this area,” said Joost Vastenavondt, chief growth officer at Le Pain Quotidien.

Le Pain Quotidien joins food companies that have announced global commitments to eliminate the use of cages in their egg supply chains, including Unilever, Aldi Sud, Kellogg Company, General Mills and Wyndham Worldwide.
