McDonald's, Shake Shack, Wendy's leaders headlines Australia's biggest QSR conference

The industry's biggest QSR awards programme will also be held on the same day.

Senior executives from McDonald's, Shake Shack, and Wendy's are set to take the stage as featured speakers at the QSR Media Conference & Awards 2026, powered by Red Bull, which will be held on 12 October at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park Hotel in Sydney, Australia.

The one-day event will bring together restaurant operators, industry leaders, and executives from across the quick-service restaurant sector for a programme of keynote presentations, panel discussions, and networking sessions. The QSR Media Conference & Awards 2026, powered by Red Bull, will also host its annual awards programme on the same day, recognising excellence and innovation across the industry.

Amongst the featured solo speakers is Joe Chiczewski, CEO of McDonald's Australia, who will deliver a keynote session during the conference.

Matthew Silverstein, managing director for global licensing at SSE Hong Kong Limited (Shake Shack), will also take the stage to discuss the brand's entry into the Australian market following its debut earlier this year.

Later in the programme, Richard Wallis, president for Asia-Pacific at Flynn Group, will share insights from launching Wendy's in Australia, reflecting on the brand's expansion into the market.

In addition to the keynote sessions, the event will feature panel discussions covering the economic outlook, consumer trends, investment, brand growth, customer insights, and the evolving Australian QSR landscape.

The QSR Media Awards programme will take place during the afternoon, recognising outstanding achievements by restaurant brands and industry leaders across multiple categories before the conference concludes later that day.
