Pizza Hut global CEO resigns following LongRange Capital sale

The brand was sold for $1.5b.

Aaron Powell, global CEO of Pizza Hut, has decided to step down from his role following the sale of Pizza Hut to private equity firm LongRange Capital for $1.5b.

Powell said he will be stepping down once the deal closes.

“LongRange offered me a continuing role, and I decided that at close was the right moment. I've always believed in leaving things better than you found them — and this business is in a better state,” Powell posted on his LinkedIn page.

Yum! Brands, the parent company of Pizza Hut, first announced the sale last June.
