McDonald’s taps Skye Anderson to lead US business

She succeeds Joe Erlinger, who is leaving the company after more than two decades.

McDonald's has appointed Skye Anderson as president of McDonald’s USA, effective today, placing the longtime company executive in charge of nearly 14,000 US restaurants.

She succeeds Joe Erlinger, who is leaving the company after more than two decades, including nearly seven years as head of the US business.

Erlinger will assist with the transition and remain an adviser to the company through early 2027.

As president, Anderson will oversee US operations and lead the company’s efforts to improve restaurant operations, strengthen customer value offerings, and pursue growth in its largest market.

Anderson, who has spent more than 26 years with McDonald’s, served most recently as chief operating officer of McDonald’s USA.

She has held a range of roles across McDonald’s operations, including finance positions in Australia, field and regional leadership roles in the US, and work establishing the company’s Global Business Services organisation.

Before becoming president of McDonald’s USA, Anderson led the company’s US West Zone, overseeing more than 5,700 restaurants.

During her four-year tenure, McDonald’s said the region recorded more than 30% comparable sales growth and a $100,000 increase in average restaurant unit cash flow.
