The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf reaches 130 cafés in Kuwait

The business now employs over 1,135 people across its cafés and operations.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) has opened its 130th café in Kuwait with franchise partner Al-Ghunaim Trading Co., more than 20 years after the two began operating the brand in the market.

Al-Ghunaim Trading Co. opened its first CBTL café in Salmiya on 16 December 2004.

The business now employs more than 1,135 people across its cafés, operations, and support functions.

Beyond its café operations, Al-Ghunaim Trading Co. said it continues to support community initiatives and employment in Kuwait.

In 2026, the company contributed US$1m to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund.

The company and CBTL said their next phase will focus on further investment in innovation, people, and operations, with growth measured through the strength of the café network, customer preference, and brand equity.
