Bread Ahead and Clarence Court launch kids’ baking club
Children attending the workshops will receive a goodie bag.
Bread Ahead and Clarence Court are launching the Future Bakers Breakfast Club on 10 October, with free children’s baking workshops at Bread Ahead’s schools in Borough Market and Wembley.
The 90-minute sessions will teach children to make a white tin loaf from scratch and prepare a soft-boiled egg with soldiers.
Participants will take their freshly baked loaf, recipes, and materials home to recreate the activities with their families.
The Breakfast Club is part of Bread Ahead’s Future Bakers Project, which launched in May and has so far reached 807 young bakers.
The initiative is targeting 1,000 participants, with a longer-term goal of teaching one million young people to bake by 2036 through in-person sessions, online recipes, learning resources, and activity packs.
Three sessions will take place at each venue, running from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
With 12 children per session, 72 places will be available across the two locations.
Children attending the workshops will also receive a goodie bag containing an All Day Knives egg cup, a Clarence Court tea towel, a Clarence Court egg box voucher, and recipe cards from both brands.
Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with one place available per family.
A free step-by-step Breakfast Club video will also be available online from 10 October for families unable to attend.
Separately, Clarence Court is offering 100 young bakers an egg box voucher redeemable at Waitrose.
To enter, children can post a photo or video of themselves or their dippy egg creation on Instagram via a trusted adult’s account, follow and tag Clarence Court and Bread Ahead, and use #FutureBakersBreakfastClub.
The first 100 eligible entries will receive a voucher.
